Additional Requirements:Applicants must have attained their 21st Birthday at application. Applicants must be under the age of 35 at the date of testing and at such time as the final eligibility register is posted unless exempt by State Statue 65 IL5/10-2.1 which provides, in part, that the age limitation does not apply to any person previously employed as a full-time firefighter in a regularly constituted fire department of any municipality or fire protection district located in Illinois. Must have no felony convictions and be of good moral character.

Hiring Process:Step 1: Pass the NTN examination with a score of 70 or higher. Step 2: Complete an oral interview with the University Park Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. Step 3: Pass a thorough background investigation, psychological assessment, medical screening, and drug screening.
