Department Overview
Harvard Fire Protection District is a growing department located in Northwest McHenry County, Illinois. The district has an administrative staff that includes a Fire Chief, one Assistant Chief, two Battalion Chiefs, three Lieutenants, and twenty part-time Firefighter/EMT-Bs or Paramedics. It is the largest fire district in Illinois.

We currently operate out of one station and serve the citizens of Harvard, Chemung, and Lawrence. It encompasses a 108.5 square mile jurisdiction northwest of the City of Chicago.
