Department Overview
The Eagle Point Police Department serves a community that supports the men and women of law enforcement. Our department has developed a strong relationship with our residents by being invested in the community we serve. The department also has the respect of the City Council.
Eagle Point is a City of just under 10,000 people. While we are close to Medford, we are also close to rural areas that provide access to fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, boating, and many other recreational activities. We are near the ocean, the high desert, and the mountains.
This position works rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Currently, patrol works 4-10 hour shifts. Special assignments such as drug detective, SRO, and Investigations have flexible schedules.
The department provides all required duty equipment, including a new sidearm, and uses red dot systems on all pistols. New suppressed department rifles were issued this year, as well as full deployment of Taser 10s. We use the newest technology from Axon for bodycams as well as ALPR and Fleet 3 systems in our patrol vehicles. The department is also utilizing Axon AI products such as Draft One for report writing, translation through the Axon Body 4, and new technology is planned for deployment in the next 5 years. All patrol cars are new, 2024 models, and have new equipment.
We are a growing agency with supportive leadership, looking for motivated individuals who want to serve a supportive community, be involved in numerous special events, and help to create new programs and crime prevention efforts. Our department is increasing training and looking at new special assignments to help increase opportunities and educational advancement. Instructor positions are available and being developed for EVOC, Firearms, Use of Force/"Force Science" Instructors, Less-Lethal, as well as other tactical training positions. Opportunities for joining regional tactical teams will be developed over the next 12-18 months.
If you are looking for a challenge and want to be part of the community, consider being a member of a team making a difference every day. Schedule a Ride-Along to learn more about the department and what we have to offer.
