Job Requirements

Additional Requirements:
Pass the written examination, pass the background investigation, and pass the psychological and medical examinations. Certification as an Illinois Basic Operations Firefighter or pass an Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshall 9OFSM)-approved fire academy and be able to obtain Illinois Basic Operations Firefighter certification (if not already certified). Selection Process:
Completion of the National Testing Network written exam, all PHQ, and submission of preference points and all supporting documentation within 10 days of application submission.
Oral Interviews:
The orals interviews will be scheduled to take place at the end of October 2025. The Board of Fire Commissioners conducts interviews at the Administrative headquarters of the Frankfort Fire Protection District, located at 333 W. Nebraska Street, Frankfort, Illinois 60423. Eligible candidates will be notified after the written examination of their scheduled interview time.
