The Bradenton Fire Department is hiring (6) six Firefighter/EMTs or Firefighter/Paramedics between October and February. A City of Bradenton employment application (available at https://cityofbradenton.com/employment), FireTEAM and a valid CPAT testing are required for this listing.

Salary Information:
Firefighter/EMT - $55,886 – $93,931 annually Firefighter/Paramedic – TBD through collective bargaining
** The Bradenton Fire Department is currently a BLS department pursuing ALS. **
Annual raises are negotiated through collective bargaining and occur on the first pay period after October 1st of each year.

Department Information: The Bradenton Fire Department is a professional career all hazards organization that provides the following services to our community: emergency medical, fire suppression, fire prevention, Hazmat operations, technical rescue operations, marine operations, and emergency management. The department has three stations staffed by 66 firefighters, divided among three shifts, as well as 12 administrative and support personnel.
The department responds to approximately 8,500 calls for service annually, and operates basic life support (BLS) units comprised of two rescues, three engine companies, two aerial ladders, and a special operations/technical rescue unit. Specialty programs include a technical rescue team and a marine rescue division.
Other services include fire prevention and investigation, plans review, pre-fire planning, life safety code inspections, home safety inspections, and smoke alarm installation. Community involvement includes public education and a myriad of public relations events.
City Information: The City of Bradenton is located on the central west coast of Florida, south of Tampa, along the southern bank of the Manatee River. The city was incorporated in 1903, encompasses approximately 15 square miles of residential, commercial, and recreation, and serves as the county seat of Manatee County.
Notable companies and employers in the area include Tropicana Manufacturing Co Inc, Bealls, Manatee Memorial Hospital, Manatee County School District, Blake Medical Center, First Watch, the Pittsburg Pirates/Bradenton Marauders, and IMG Academies. Additionally, the city benefits from a robust tourism industry, thanks to its proximity to neighboring beach communities like Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key.

Post Hiring: Members will be required to complete courses related to probationary/promotional policies. (i.e. ICS, NIMS, various fire-science courses, Driver/Operator, EMT re-certification, and Paramedic certification).
Specific Disqualifiers/Behaviors: Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers
· Convicted of a misdemeanor relating to perjury, false statement, or moral turpitude
· Convicted of a felony or a crime punishable by imprisonment of one year or more under the law of the United States or of any state thereof, or under the law of any other country
· Dishonorably discharged from any of the Armed Forces of the United States

Drug Use Disqualifiers
