Sherman County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for Entry Level Patrol Deputy.
The Sherman County Sheriff’s Office provides patrol, criminal investigations, civil process and marine patrol. Founded in 1889 and today led by Sheriff James Burgett, the Sherman County Sheriff’s Office proudly serves the 1,800 residents of Sherman County and the thousands more that pass through daily.
Located in the north-central part of Oregon along the Columbia River, between the Deschutes and John Day Rivers. Prime location for all outdoor recreation. We enjoy strong support from our community and local government. Come work in a community where you are always appreciated.
SALARY RANGE: Starting Salary: $6,493 to $7,312 per monthIntermediate Certification+ 3%Advanced Certification + 3%Supervisory Certification + 3%

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
A Patrol Deputy in Sherman County is expected to be proficient in all aspects of law enforcement. Our deputies deal with a significant number of dangerous drivers on Highway 97 and Interstate 84. Additionally, they conduct criminal investigations, search and rescue, participate in community events, and foster a relationship of trust within the community. This office makes customer service a priority.
Administration’s role is to support your success both professionally and personally. We prioritize a healthy work environment, high-quality training, dependable gear, and deputy independence. Working alone is common in our office, so we’re looking for a deputy with strong decision-making skills and the ability to handle any situation confidently.
