The Lealman Fire District is currently hiring for Firefighter/ Paramedic, Firefighter / EMT. Firefighter
/EMT’s must become a Paramedic per employment agreement. Candidates must have Fire-TEAM testing and current NTN issued CPAT. Posting will remain open until current positions are filled.

· Salary: Current Union contract
o Rates for current year 2025/2026
o Florida State Certified Firefighter/ Paramedic starting FF/Paramedic Salary: $56,547.00
o Top out $93,739.00
o Florida State Certified Firefighter/EMT starting Salary $50,924.00
o Top out $83,803.00
o Work Schedule: 24 hours on / 48 hours off One N/S Day every 14th shift.

o Holiday Pay: 120 hours annually
o Retirement: Florida Retirement System (FRS) 3% employee contribution, 3% multiplier Optional 457 Pension program available

o Department Description: Lealman Fire District is in Pinellas County Florida. It is comprised of residential, multifamily, commercial and industrial complexes. We are one of the busiest departments in Pinellas County running over 12,000 Fire and EMS calls a year. Members of our department enjoy a generous benefit package, excellent equipment and working environment. We currently operate three stations. Out of those are run three ALS engines, three ALS rescues, two marine units and our District Chief.

· Job Requirements
o Age: 18
o US Citizen: Yes
o High School Grad/GED: Yes
o Valid FLORIDA State Driver's License: Yes
o Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
o Ability to pass a swim test
o Possession of current Florida certifications as follows:
o Florida Firefighter II Certificate of Compliance from Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training.
o State of Florida Certified Paramedic
o State of Florida Certified EMT
o ACLS, ITLS or PHTLS, and CPR.
o Must pass CJIS background check and General role training
o Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers:
o Must not have any felony convictions within the last 4 years.
o Conviction or plea of nolo contendere of a felony, or conviction of a misdemeanor directly related to the position of firefighter, shall exclude an applicant from employment for a period of four (4) years after the expiration of sentence or final release by the Parole Commission unless the applicant, prior to the expiration of the four (4) year period, has received a full pardon or has had his or her civil rights restored. Where the sentence of an applicant is suspended or adjudication is withheld and a
period of probation is imposed, the applicant must have been released from probation before being eligible for employment. See F.S. 112.011(2)(b) and F.S. 633.412.
· Driving Disqualifiers:
o A license revocation, multiple convictions of DUI, a twelve-point suspension and/or multiple moving violations.
· Drug Use Disqualifiers:
o Pre-employment testing required.
o Employment Disqualifiers:
■ Failure of any of the following pre-employment tests:
■ Driving records check
■ Physical examination, including drug screening
■ Background check
· Additional Disqualifiers:
o The applicant must be a non-user of tobacco products for at least one year prior to date of application and throughout their employment with this department. Must be able to pass a physical meeting the requirements of NFPA 1582 medical evaluation of candidates.
