Job Title: Volunteer Firefighter
Reports to: Volunteer Lieutenant
Department: Fire Operations
FLSA Status: Volunteer
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Position Summary:
To protect the lives, property, and the environment through activities associated with fire prevention, fire suppression, hazardous materials, and emergency response including medical incidents. The Volunteer All Hazards Firefighter participates in the training and maintenance activities necessary to attain the required certifications for the safe performance of the functions required.
Essential Functions:
The duties of this position may change based on the needs of the district and additional direction from the Fire Chief. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Communications: Converses and corresponds with peers in ways that support transactional and administrative activities. Seeks and shares information and opinions. Explains the immediate context of the situation, asks questions with follow-ups, and solicits advice prior to taking action.

Working Conditions:
· Regularly works in outside weather conditions, including temperature extremes, during the day and night shifts.
· Exposure to loud noises, confined spaces, and hazards associated with fighting fires and rendering emergency medical assistance, including biohazards, smoke, noxious odors, fumes, chemicals, liquid chemicals, solvents, and oils.
· Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
