The Fayetteville Fire Department is building an annual list for Entry-Level Firefighter. Candidates must complete the CPAT licensed by the IAFF and the FireTEAM test through National Testing Network by June 2, 2025, at 4:30 pm CDT.

Department Overview:
The Fayetteville Fire Department is a progressive, all hazards emergency services response agency that includes fire suppression, emergency medical services, every kind of rescue, code enforcement, arson investigation, and public education. These services are provided by 134 members from 9 fire stations with state-of-the-art fire trucks, rescue, and medical equipment. The Fire Department responded to 13,156 calls for service during 2023. The department responds to medical calls inside the city with basic life support, non-transport fire companies. Our Firefighters are committed to delivering the finest customer service possible.

Job Requirements
Age : 18-35 years of age ( see Min. Qualifications section 2)
Citizenship Required : Yes, or be a nonimmigrant legally admitted to the United States under the Compact of Free Association (Marshall Islands)
High School Grad/GED : Yes
Valid ARKANSAS Driver's License : Yes, must possess a valid driver's license from any state.
Ability to Read/Speak English : Yes
Minimum Qualifications :
a. Arkansas EMT certification or National Registry EMT certification
b. Medical certification or license at a higher level (paramedic, nurse, etc.)
c. 12 college credit hours
d. Firefighter I and Firefighter II certification through IFSAC or Pro-Board
e. A minimum of two years’ honorable service in the US Armed Forces including National Guard.
a. Any person who has at least two (2) years of previous experience as a paid firefighter with another department and whose years of experience as a paid firefighter, when subtracted from the person’s age leaves a remainder of not more than thirty- two (32) years.
b. A current or former service member of the regular or reserve component of the uniformed services of the United States as defined under 10 U.S.C. § 101 who is within three (3) years of separation or retirement from the regular or reserve component of the uniformed services of the United States.
Post Hiring Certifications : Must certify as Firefighter I & II (IFSAC) within 12 months of hire and EMT within 18 months hire (training provided).
Schooling Prior and Post Hiring Training : Training will be provided for Firefighter and EMT certifications.
Specific Disqualifiers/Behaviors : Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: Felony Conviction.Driving Disqualifiers: Lack of a valid Driver’s License.Employment Disqualifiers: After receiving a conditional offer of employment, Candidates are required to complete post-offer medical screenings, a background investigation and climb a 75’ ft aerial ladder.
