Department Information: The Sheriff’s Office consists of three divisions: the Patrol Division, comprised of Patrol Deputy Sheriff’s, Detectives, and Communications Officers. The Jail Division; and the Civil Division.

The Dispatcher is expected to work flexible schedule including some overtime when needed. Under general supervision, the Dispatcher receives telephone calls, dispatches enforcement officers and other emergency response agencies and performs other duties specifically assigned by the Sheriff and/or designee. ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:Dispatch: *Receive calls and dispatch patrol officers by location and availability to accidents, complaints, incidents and general calls.*Receive calls and dispatch EMS, fire departments and other emergency response agencies, as necessary.*Prioritizes calls.*Maintain contact with officers for updating and safety.*Record log information. *Compile and prepare initial complaint report. *Enter warrants into LEADS/NCIC database systems.*Conduct LEADS, CCH and arrest record checks. *Maintain radio and telephone tapes.*Monitor entrances and security devices.*Operate equipment including: 9-1-1 computer, LEADS computer, fire and EMS paging systems, radio, and computer aided dispatch (CAD) system.Cooperate with other law enforcement agencies, as necessary.Compile information and prepare reports, as needed. Clerical: *Record Ohio accident reports.*Maintain geographic file in computer system*Maintain accurate emergency contact numbers for business.*Compile monthly and annual statistical reports.*Answer the telephone, direct calls and take messages.Schedule appointments.Make photocopies.
