Santa Fe Springs Fire-Rescue is currently hiring for the position of Firefighter. All testing through NTN must be completed by Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Candidates with valid FireTEAM scores taken through NTN may be eligible to submit their scores to the City of Santa Fe Springs Fire Rescue through NTN. Please visit the NTN website for instructions on how to forward your test scores.
Salary Information: $7,258.43 - 9,470.60 monthly.

City Information: Santa Fe Springs is a general law city with a Council-Manager form of government. Incorporated in 1957 by industrial and public spirited residents, Santa Fe Springs is today a thriving business community with 85% of its area zoned for business and industry. an official City of Santa Fe Spring Employment Application. (This is by invite only. Candidates will be
notified the week of September 22, 2025.) Candidate applications must include the required

ABOUT THE POSITION : The City of Santa Fe Springs seeks Firefighters to serve our community. Candidates who are successful in passing all portions of the examination process will be placed on an eligibility list by tier, which may be used to fill vacancies in the Fire-Rescue Department for one (1) year with an option to extend the list for an additional year. Essential Functions: The successful candidate will have the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions described below. Under the direction of a Fire Captain, Firefighters perform fire control activities, victim rescue, exposure tactics, ventilation, fire containment and extinguishment, laddering, exposure protection and salvage work; respond to hazardous materials releases; inspect, operate and maintain all related equipment; basic life support; controls traffic; conduct public education sessions regarding fire/emergency safety practices and procedures; write fire alarm reports; inspect buildings and follow fire and building codes and federal, state, local and departmental rules & regulations; identify common, special, structural and panic hazards; & attend instruction classes related to the job.
EXAMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS : The examination process will consist of an extensive application packet review and an oral board interview. Only the top scoring candidates on the written test (NTN) will be invited to the oral interviews. You must pass all portions of the examination process to be placed on an eligibility list. Candidates will be placed on the eligibility list by tier ranking. After a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to successfully complete a thorough background investigation, which may include a polygraph/voice stress analyzer, and a pre-employment medical evaluation which may include drug/alcohol screening and a psychological evaluation.
