The McMinnville Police Department is recruiting for Recruit Officer and currently Certified (Lateral) Officer positions.

Job Classification: Recruit Police Officer

Job Classification: Certified (Lateral) Police Officer

State of Oregon Certified (Lateral) candidates are currently certified as a Police Officer and in good standing.

Out of state Certified (Lateral) candidates are currently certified as a Police Officer and in good standing in their current state. Candidates have also completed an equivalent police academy to the state of Oregon DPSST.

$6,000 bonus for Oregon DPSST Certified Officers with a minimum of 37 months current certification. Bonus is paid out in 3 installments:

· $2,000 paid at completion of Field Training.

· $2,000 paid at completion of probation.

· $2,000 paid at 30 continuous months of service.

Recruit Salary Information:

$6,061.00 - $6,380.00 Monthly

$72,732.00 - $76,560.00 Annually Recruit Officer while in training

Lateral/Certified Officer Salary information:

$6,380.00 - $8,550.00 Monthly

$76,560.00 - $102,600.00 Annually

Supplemental Salary Information:

Salary will be determined based on experience and eligibility for certificate and incentive pay. The current base salary range for this position (without any additional certifications and incentive pay) is $76,560.00-$102,600.00.

The following shall be applied to base salary as applicable:

· 2% incentive for Associate’s Degree

· 4% incentive for Bachelor's Degree

· 4% incentive for DPSST Intermediate Certification

· 8% incentive for DPSST Advanced Certification

· 5% incentive for Bilingual in Spanish (street level fluency)

· 10% incentive for Court Certified Bilingual in Spanish

· 5% incentive for ASL Certification

· 5% incentive for Detective (including Sergeant) Assignment

· 5% incentive for School Resource Officer Assignment

· 8.5% incentive for K-9

· 5% incentive for Police Training Officer

· 5% incentive for Motorcycle Duty

· 5% incentive for Officer in Charge

Note: There is no cap on the total incentive pays you can earn.

CCandidates must meet the following minimum qualfications to be considered for the postion of Entry Level Police Officer:

You must meet all of these following State of Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) requirements:
- Recruit Officers
  - Be a United States Citizen within 18 months of employment.
  - Be at least 21-years of age at the date of hire.
  - Possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
  - Declared by a physician as able to perform the physical duties as required by the occupation.
  - Of good moral fitness, withoug legal conduct involving moral tupitude, dishonesty, fraud, deceit, misrepresentation, and a conviction of a sex crime, domestic violence and/or any felony crime.
  - Information regarding the minimum qualifications for Oregon law enforcement officers is available at Oregon Administrative Rule 259-008-0010
- Lateral Officers
  - You must be a current certified law enforcement officer in Oregon or another state.
    - Immediate disqualification will happen if state certification status is one of the following categories:
      - Previously revoked or in denial.
      - Currently suspended for any reason.
  - Be a United States Citizen within 18 moths of employment.
  - Possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
  - Declared by a physician as able to perform the physical duties as required by the occupation.
  - Of good moral fitness, without legal conduct involving moral tupitude, dishonesty, fraud, deceit, misrepresentation, and a conviction of a sex crime, domestic violence and/or felony crime.
