STATE CERTIFIED PARAMEDICS WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR $12,500 PARAMEDIC INCENTIVE PAY, ANNUALLY, WHICH IS INCLUDED IN THE SALARY LISTED ABOVE ($62,944.98 + $12,500 = $75,444.98)
APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED IF YOU ARE IN THE LAST SEMESTER/TRIMESTER OF PARAMEDIC SCHOOL. PLEASE PROVIDE PROOF THAT YOU ARE ENROLLED IN THE LAST SEMESTER/TRIMESTER.
Performs general firefighting, fire prevention and emergency medical duties for the residents and visitors of the City.

In addition, applicants must take the FireTeam and CPAT tests, which must be scheduled through the National Testing Network website, NTN Physical and Written Exams (nationaltestingnetwork.com). Results will only be accepted if taken within 1 year from the opening date of this recruitment.
For quicker results, applicants can take the FireTeam test virtually.
If you have taken the FireTeam and CPAT exams within the last year and wish to apply, please follow the following instructions from the NTN website: "To add a new department job to your list, log in to your account at www.nationaltestingnetwork.com and click on the “Add Departments for (Your Career Path)” button, choose the department jobs you want and pay the fee." CPAT results will only be accepted through National Testing Network, within the last year, from the opening date of this recruitment. All testing results must be submitted as soon as possible, as we will close the recruitment when there is an adequate pool of qualified candidates.
**The City will schedule you for the swim test based on your NTN FireTeam score and if you meet all the requirements, as well as submitting all the required documentation.
Finally, if you pass all the swim test, you will be scheduled for an interview, shortly after the swim test. Selections will be made shortly after the conclusion of the interviews.
Eligibility: Coverage in the City’s group insurance plans begins the first of the month following thirty (30) days of employment.
Health Insurance: Choice of three (3) plans provided through Florida Blue. Employee contributions are required toward the cost of this insurance on a semi-monthly basis as follows:
Dental Insurance: PPO plan offered through Humana, provided at no cost
Life Insurance: Two (2) times annual salary up to a maximum of $100,000 provided at no cost.Short Term Disability: Eligible for 60% of salary up to 26 weeks, provided at no cost.Voluntary Long-Term Disability: 60% of salary up to $1,500 monthly, cost age based.Employee Assistance Program: Six (6) visits per calendar year, per issue, provided at no cost.Tutition Reumbursement - Police: $2,500/year from the Police FoundationWellness Program: Voluntary wellness initiatives that promote and reward health awareness.Pension Plan: Certified law enforcement officers and firefighters are Pension Fund participants. Amount of retirement benefits is based on credited service and average final compensation.Holidays: Eleven (11) days per calendar year.
