Job Classification: Full-Time Patrol Officer
Olmsted Township Police Department is currently building an ongoing eligibility list for Patrol Officer. Starting Salary Information: $53,618 / Top out or lateral transfers $74,589
Benefit Information: OPBA Collective Bargaining Agreement. $1200.00 clothing allowance annually. All hired officers will be issued all required police uniforms, equipment, and bulletproof vest. 12 hour shifts.
Department Information: The Olmsted Township Police Department is a community-oriented police agency that provides professional, full service policing with highly trained personnel. The Police Department proactively patrols 10.0 square miles and serves approximately 16,000 residents. The Police Department operates a Patrol Bureau, Detective Bureau, SRO/ DARE program, drone program, ebike / bike patrol unit and other specialized services.
The department is comprised of a Chief of Police, Lieutenant of Police, one Detective, 5 Sergeants, 12 full time patrol officers, and 1 part-time patrol officer.

Academy Certification: ACTIVE, NON EXPIRED OPOTA Certificate from State of Ohio sanctioned Peace Officer Academy
Prior Experience: Preferred
Necessary Certifications: ACTIVE, NON EXPIRED OPOTA Peace Officer Certification, Tri-C Physical Agility certification
Schooling Prior and Post Hiring: Must complete annual agency in-service training required by the federal, state and local laws and agency accrediting bodies. Must successfully certify on 9mm handgun, 12 gauge shotgun, and .223 patrol rifle annually.

Disciplinary action or termination due to any sexual misconduct or harassment complaints.

Issuance of Conditional Offer of Employment:
A conditional appointment may be made on based on the condition that candidate successfully passes a psychological evaluation, medical examination and drug test.
Psychological Examination – All candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment will be required to take a psychological examination.
Physical and Drug Screen – A licensed physician will conduct a complete medical examination to determine fitness to perform the essential job functions.
