Under the general direction of Fire Department command staff, or designee. Performs responsible work protecting lives and property by combating and extinguishing fires, as well as providing advanced emergency care, life support, and/or transportation of the sick and injured. Work involves maintaining fire equipment and apparatus and responding to other emergencies or non-emergency situations in accordance with City codes and Departmental policies. Work may be performed under situations extremely hazardous to personal health and safety. Work may include medical supervision and direction of subordinates in emergency situations. Work is reviewed through observation and results obtained.
Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED)
Valid Driver's License
State certification as a Firefighter/EMT
