Job Classification: Police Officer – Lateral
The City of Silverton is currently hiring for Police Officer - Lateral or Entry.
This position requires that both:1) FrontLine National and ORPAT testing, and2) City application complete with cover letter and resume
Salary Information: $28.56/hr-$36.45/hr (Effective July 1, 2024, hourly rates will increase 5% to $29.99/hr-$38.28/hr)
Incentives:
· $175 per month for Intermediate Certification
· $350 per month for Intermediate and Advanced Certification (after the probation period is completed)
Silverton Police Officers may also receive premium pay for Detectiveassignment, Field Training Officer assignment, Motorcycle Assignment, bilingual proficiency, and longevity pay.

Department Overview: The Silverton Police Department received state accreditation under NWAA in 2009 and was recently re-accredited in 2022. The department provides citizens with 24-hour law enforcement services. In addition to general law enforcement services, the agency has specialty positions of Detective, Motorcycle Traffic Officer, and School Resource Officer (contract). The agency supports a Community Service Officer, Municipal Court, and Juvenile Municipal and Peer Court. The department has a full-time staffing level of 17.
