The City of Wylie requires FireTEAM and valid physical agility. All testing must be completed by the close date of October 25, 2025. Physical agility is by invitation only, and might be on the same date. If you cannot make this date at all, please contact Katy.willoughby@wylietexas.gov

Any applicants who do not currently possess Texas State or National EMT or Paramedic certifications by January 1, 2026 will not be considered for hire. Additionally, candidates must have a Certification from the Texas Commission of Fire Protection for basic Firefighter. You must have the proper certifications by January 1, 2026.

Salary Information: $78,181.99, annually, an additional $2,750 Paramedic certification pay

Eligibility Requirements
· Minimum age 18, high school diploma or equivalent
· Certified at a minimum as a Basic Structural Fire Protection Personnel by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection or eligible to obtain your certification
· Possess and maintain a valid State of Texas DSHS Paramedic or National Registry Paramedic Certification
· Possess and maintain a valid State of Texas DSHS EMT or National Registry Certification for EMT
· Must complete the Wylie PAT which measures agility, strength, balance, coordination and stamina.
· Must possess or acquire an unrestricted Texas Motor Vehicle Operator's License
· Must have passed all required certifications by the hire date.
