The Newberg-Dundee Police Department is currently hiring for Reserve Police Officer. Candidates must complete a department application, found at:

· All candidates must complete the Frontline National tests for this position. This can be scheduled on the National Testing Network website. All testing must be completed and scores submitted with the application by September 26, 2025.

Job Requirements
Age: 21
US Citizen: Must be a US Citizen
High School Grad/GED: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid OREGON State Driver's License: Must have a valid driver license.
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision: Visual and Hearing Acuity: Must meet the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training requirements as detailed in Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs)
College: Not Required

Hiring Process:

· Pass score on Frontline National Test (NTN)
· ORPAT testing required with passing time (NTN)

Specific Disqualifiers/Behaviors: Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers:
· A felony conviction under state or federal law.
· A misdemeanor conviction relating to domestic violence, sex crimes, fraud, or moral turpitude.
· Other misdemeanor conviction within the last five years.
· Convictions for minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage within the last 12 months.
· Conviction for a major traffic offense or a DUII diversion within the last five years.
· Criminal (Felony/Misdemeanor) operator's license suspension within the last five years.
· Three or more hazardous traffic violation convictions within the last two years.
· Careless driving conviction within the last three years.
· Conviction for an open container of an alcoholic beverage within the last 12 months.
· Conviction of a Class A traffic violation within the last three years.
· Five or more traffic violation convictions, including suspensions, within the last three years.
· Possession, sales, distribution, manufacture, or use of an illegal drug within the last 10 years.
· Discharge from any branch of the Armed Forces classified as Other than Honorable, Bad Conduct, or Dishonorable.
· No valid operator's license.
· Operator's license expired
· Operator's license is suspended.
· Convicted Arrest Record in violation of OAR Not eligible to be certified police officer by DPSST
Driving Disqualifiers:
· Careless driving conviction within the last two years.

Employment Disqualifiers:
· Missing any scheduled appointment during the process without prior permission
· Having been disciplined by any employer (including military) as an adult for abuse of leave, gross insubordination, dereliction of duty or persistent failure to follow established policies and regulations
· Having been involuntarily dismissed (for any reason other than lay-off) from two or more employers as an adult
· Having a work history that indicates an inability to maintain a long-term relationship with an employer or to establish and work toward achieving long-term goals
· Resigning from any paid position without notice may be disqualifying, except where the presence of a hostile work environment is alleged
Financial Disqualifiers:
· For officer applicants having undergone personal bankruptcy more than once; having current financial obligations for which legal judgments have not been satisfied; currently having wages garnished; or any other history of financial instability. The credit history of an applicant or employee shall not be used or obtained as part of an employment decision, including hiring, discharge, promotion or demotion, unless the position qualifies as a public safety officer as defined in OAR (ORS 659A.320).
