The City of Dunedin Fire Rescue is currently hiring Florida State Certified Firefighter/Paramedics
Firefighter/Paramedic Starting Salary: $68,164 (includes guaranteed Holiday pay)
Pay Range: $64,096 - $97,647 (12-year Step Plan)
Pay for Experience: Candidates that have experience as a Firefighter/Paramedic will receive one year of step pay for each year of prior service, up to 5 years.
Starting Salary for an experienced 5-year Firefighter/Paramedic is $79,135 (includes guaranteed Holiday pay).
Certification Incentive Pay*:
1. Florida Licensed Paramedic Incentive Pay: Candidates that are Florida State certified Paramedics will receive a one-time payment of $3,000 upon successful completion of one-year probation.
2. Pinellas County Certified Paramedic Incentive Pay: Candidates that are currently Pinellas County Certified Paramedics will receive a one-time payment of $5,000 upon successful completion of one-year probation.
3. Florida State Certified Firefighter with Pinellas County Paramedic Incentive Pay:
Candidates that are a Florida Certified Firefighter and Pinellas County Certified Paramedic will receive a one-time payment of $10,000 upon successful completion of one-year probation.
*Note: Only the highest incentive pay listed above will be paid to the candidate based on their certifications.
Department Overview:
The City of Dunedin is located on the west coast of Florida in the Tampa Bay area. It is fortunate to be a Gulf of Mexico coastal community boasting the beautiful beaches of Honeymoon Island State Park and Caladesi Island State Park. The City has a year around population of 45,000 and is the Spring Training home of the Toronto Blue Jays. Many special events are scheduled throughout the year including the area favorite Mardi Gras parade and celebration in the downtown area. The Fire Rescue Department operates out of three stations and is part of the Pinellas County EMS system. We operate three ALS engines, a ladder truck, brush truck, rescue and a fire rescue boat. Line personnel operate on a 48/96 shift schedule.
