Candidate reimbursement information:

Residents of the District of Columbia will be fully reimbursed for the cost of their examination registration within 30 days of taking the examination [$55].
Non-residents of the District of Columbia will receive a partial reimbursement of their examination registration within 30 days of taking the examination after taking the exam in the District of Columbia [$27.50].

Financial Hardship:
Applicants experiencing financial hardship may apply for a fee waiver, and after approved, would receive a one-time use voucher to utilize [$55]. Candidates must complete a fee waiver form: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/ergontn-public/ntn/pdf/Testing_Fee_Waiver.pdf
Next, applicants will need to scan and email the waiver request to support@nationaltestingnetwork.com or start a Customer Support ticket using the "Contact Support" link at the bottom of the page with the scan attached. The form will be forwarded to MPD. The approval process may take several weeks. Submitting a fee waiver request does not exempt the candidate from meeting testing deadlines

Job Requirements

Eligibility Requirements:

Ability to work lawfully in the US
At least 20 1/2 years of age at time of application
At least 21 years of age at the official date of appointment
Read and speak English
Possess any valid US driver’s license at the time of application
Pass a police officer selection exam
Pass a physical ability test
Submit to a polygraph examination
Pass a medical examination, including a drug-screening
Pass a psychological examination
Possess a high moral character for carrying out law enforcement duties
Currently employed or have been employed within one year of the date of application by a full service police department in a municipality or a state within the United States.
Have not been fired or have any sustained adverse actions from current/former law enforcement agency.
Have three years of law enforcement experience with a full service police department, having full powers of arrest, graduating from a certified police academy.

In addition to GED or high school diploma, you must have one of the following:

60 completed college credit hours in any subject matter. Credits from any accredited college or university will be accepted; or
Two years of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States, including the Organized Reserves and National Guard, and, if separated from the military, an honorable discharge; or
Three years in a full-duty status with a full-service police department in a municipality or a state within the United States, and have resigned or retired in good standing.
